HOW TO RIDE FAIRWAY BIKES
As Easy As Riding A Bike (maybe even easier)
The Fairway Golf Bike is an electric bicycle designed to be stable and safe in most situations on the course. But, part of what makes golf fun and challenging is the varied layout of the courses. This is a guide to help you operate the bike comfortably and safely in those conditions.
Riding Safely
Start off slowly. It takes a few minutes to get used to the steering and feel of the tricycle wheelbase.
Lean your weight into turns for more stability, and make gradual turns at low speeds when starting out.
Keep your speed below 12 MPH and stay in control on downhill slopes by gently applying both the front and rear brakes. On steep downhill slopes, keep speed below 5 MPH.
Avoid riding along the sides of steep hills, observe all signs, and be careful on wet surfaces and downhill slopes where braking may be less effective.
Do not stand up while pedaling, and keep feet on pedals while riding. Increase the power level and use the throttle when climbing hills.
Only 1 rider at a time. Must be 16+ years old, 5’ to 6’4” tall, and under 300lbs.
Turning on the Power
The power button is located on the back of the display.
Press and hold it for approximately 3 seconds until the display turns on.
Adjusting the Pedal Assist
The electric pedal assist begins shortly after you start pedaling, and can be adjusted upward/downward while riding, depending on the terrain and desired experience.
Located on the front of the display, the +/- buttons will increase or decrease the pedal assist level between 0 (no power) and 5 (maximum power).
The current power level is shown in the bottom-left corner of the display:
Level 1-2: Best for beginners, flatter terrain, and/or those who want more pedal resistance and exercise.
Level 3: Default setting with moderate acceleration and torque for varied terrain.
Level 4-5: Recommended for steep uphill climbs and experienced riders who want faster acceleration and higher torque.
Using the Throttle
The throttle is located next to the grip on the right handlebar.
Push down using your thumb to engage the electric motor with no pedaling needed. Throttle power also corresponds to the power level on your display.
Use the throttle for extra torque when going up steep hills (do not stand on the pedals)
Only use the throttle while seated on the bike with the brakes disengaged.
Setting and Releasing the Parking Brake
Pull the brake levers and press the metallic pin into the brake handle to set the parking brakes on both the front and rear brakes (right and left levers).
Before dismounting, check that the pins are all the way in the down position, the brake levers remain engaged, and the bike does not roll forward or backward. Avoid parking on steep hills.
To release the parking brake, pull the brake lever, and the pin will pop back into the up position.
If the bike is not moving properly when pedaling or using the throttle, first check to make sure the parking brake has been released.
using brakes to slow down and stop
Pull the brake levers located on both sides of handlebar to apply the brake.
The right lever controls the rear brake, and the left lever controls the front brakes.
Apply smooth, equal pressure to both brakes when slowing or stopping. Avoid braking abruptly or locking the brakes at high speeds.
When traveling downhill, keep pressure on both levers to control speed. On steep downhill slopes, keep speed below 5 MPH.
